EuroManx has ceased all operations today (9 May) citing record oil costs and falling passenger numbers as the driving reasons.

The airline began operating services five years ago from the Isle of Man to Liverpool, Manchester, London City and Belfast, but it follows Eos, Oasis and half a dozen other airlines which have gone bankrupt in the last few months.

‘It is with great regret that EuroManx have announced today that the company is ceasing operations forthwith with no further flights being operated,’ a statement on the website said. ‘Employees have worked hard to develop and grow the business but over the last six months a number of factors including rising fuel prices and reduced passenger numbers have proved to be insurmountable obstacles to the airline being able to continue to operate.

‘All passengers with tickets for EuroManx services can be assured that alternative arrangements are being sourced.’

 
Flybe will carry all ticketed EuroManx passengers to Liverpool and Manchester for free – re-bookings must be made before the end of June. Customers to London city will be able to re-book up until 31 May on Flybe flights to Luton or Gatwick, and it is possible VLM will offer a similar deal direct to London City. Passengers will need to call 0871 5226157 and supply original dates of travel, flight numbers and booking reference numbers.

Passengers to Belfast will be advised in due course.
