Big TMCs are having a laugh!!! The big four can't serve the SME market as well as the Indies

The multinational TMCs all launched products targetting the SME market this. Not a surprise cause all their big accounts stopped spending. But don't think smaller buyer really get a good service from them - YOU CAN'T PUT A PRICE ON PERSONAL SERVICE!!

But do the independents have the same buying power as the big guns? Can they get as good deals when they're not spending as much money with the airlines. It would seem unlikely to me...

TMC'S and Independents both have a place in market and given the other issues within our industry , I dont think it is helpful to have this slanging match between the two Yes the big TMC'S have buying power but it all depends how other practices they deliverer will determine whether you as a buyer really benefit. eg hotel bill-backs - it's no good buying the pitch that a Tmc's has a global hotel programme with say a 4% saving on rack rates at "x" number worldwide hotels- if they mark-up the sterling equivalent of the bill-back & charge you a transaction fee!.

With over 32 yrs in business I know what I'd advise a buyer to look at irrespective of whether they intend to trade with a large Tmc or Independent.
