Carlson Wagonlit Travel has launched a new online travel management solution, CWT Connect Now, for companies with a "small to medium" yearly travel spend.
The tool lets users access CWT-negogiated fares and is designed for simple point-to-point online bookings, as well as more complex travel requests that require offline assistance.
Alison Smith, director of business development for CWT UK & Ireland, said the CWT Connect Now was developed after researching what small and medium sized companies needed.
"It's built very much with them in mind. As soon as they want to go online, we can set it up with in 24 hours, but we can still offer some configuration to suit their policies and programmes.
"These sorts of customers often just have quite simple travel policies, and don't necessarily have lots and lots of supplier deals, so they don't need all the bells and whistles that maybe a company would need.
"We knew there was a need for a different kind of online tool... They've told us they want something very simple, that's got good content, that's quick to set up, and that provides full content without expensive investment in the tool itself, because they need to get a return on investment."
Travellers can create and manage online profiles, while companies with managed travel programmes can integrate their travel policy, to encourage compliance.
Some 58% of CWT's clients spend less than 250,000 on travel, said Smith. "It's always been a really important part of our business and continues to be so... What we're trying to do is add value for those companies with smaller travel spends."

Hi Sk, Do you think it is worth me looking at this. A lot of our journeys are not point to point. He talks about going off line and into 24 hour service if more complex which might be too expensive. Has Alison showed you this? Christabell xx
