Sabre rolls out enhanced itinerary tool

Virtually There gets redesign 

Sabre Travel Network has completed the roll-out of its newly enhanced online itinerary tool.

The global distribution service (GDS) provider said travellers using Virtually There would now have access to more detailed trip information.

Users no longer need a reservation code to access their trip information, Sabre said.

Other new features include a flight and gate tracking tool, information on airport security waiting times and access to city guides.

Sabre said it hoped Virtually There's new mobile capabilities would appeal to business travellers, more of whom are starting to use PDAs and smartphones.

Sabre said it was working with airlines to allow Virtually There users to check-in online or through their mobile browsers.

Other new features include a streamlined user interface, MyTrips which stores past and future trip information, new branding and messaging for Sabre-connected agents, traveller profiling and flight notifications.

"The newly redesigned Virtually There exemplifies Sabre Travel Network's ongoing investment in and delivery of technologies that enhance travel agency services on a global scale," said Greg Webb, cmo of Sabre's parent company Sabre Holdings.

"With a host of new configurable options, agencies can meet the twin objectives of increasing brand awareness and exceeding customer service expectations."

Sabre will demonstrate Virtually There's new capabilities at next week's National Business Travel Association conference in San Diego which starts tomorrow (Aug 22).
