NBTA offers scholarships

NBTANational Business Travel Association: NBTA was renamed in February 2011 to the GBTA (Global Business Travel Association). It provides its members (business travel management professionals) with education and information Europe is offering a number of scholarships for a course in business travel management, to which ITMInstitute of Travel Management (UK and Ireland): A professional body for buyers, managers and suppliers of business travel in the UK and Ireland, with 1,000 members from large corporates, government departments & NGOs, SMEs and travel suppliers such as airlines, hotel companies, rail, car rental, technology and travel management companies (TMCs). members can also apply.

The course, titled ‘managing uncertainty', will take place between September 8 and 11, immediately after the NBTA Europe Conference in Lisbon.

It will focus on how to develop a company's "strategic direction in the face of uncertainty and complexity", and aims to develop innovative and disciplined "strategic thinking in volatile and complex environments".

The course, worth $995, forms part of the NBTA's global leadership professional (GLP) programme, which it says is the only master's level accredited course offered within the business travel industry. The scholarships will be funded by the NBTA Foundation.

Run in conjunction with the Wharton School of Business, GLP is designed for people who have already completed the NBTA's certified corporate travel executive programme.
