Oneworld carriers extend codeshares

Japan Airlines (JAL) and British Airways (BA) have extended their code share agreement with 13 additional European destinations. The total number of codeshare flights between the two airlines will be increase to 23. From March 28 JAL will add its flight code JL to nine BA-operated routes, followed by another four from April 28.
 
The 13 routes to be added are: Dusseldorf, Munich, Berlin, Basel, Brussels, Geneva, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo, Prague, Madrid, Barcelona and Athens.
 
Codeshare operations between JAL and BA started in 2004. Currently JAL codeshares with BA on 10 routes from London Heathrow, including Manchester and Vienna.
JAl said: "Oneworld partners Japan Airlines and British Airways are in discussions to further augment their bilateral partnership beyond codeshare arrangements, details of which will be announced as soon as developments are finalised."
