Accor appoints two new executives

Salvatore Serio, 46, has joined the Accor hotel group as managing director of its Novotel brand while Paulo Salvador, 40, is promoted to vp relationship and Internet marketing.
Mr Serio has wide experience in the travel industry and consulting. Since 2002, he was managing director of Europcar for France and Belgium.
Previously, he has worked for Fiat, consultants Bain and Company in Milan and a cruise company, Compagnie Française de Croisière.
Mr Salvador joined Accor in 1997 as vp marketing and sales at Accor Latin America.
Before that, he worked for Uni Banco and then at MLab Brazil The Webvertising Co, one of Latin America's Internet services companies.

KDS expands in Germany

KDS, which provides online business travel management solutions, has expanded its operation in Germany with two new appointments.
Frank Fuellback is appointed sales director for the German speaking region including Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Thomas Debusmann is appointed sales manager for the same region.
Mr Fuellback has more than 15 years' experience in the procurement, IT and travel industries. He joins KDS from Ariba.
Mr Debusmann also has extensive experience in the IT industry. He joins from Aprisma.
They will work with Rade Mitrovic who has been KDS's sales manager in Germany for five years.

Sabre adds to UK team

Sabre Travel Network has appointed two new executives to its UK team. Steve Savage joins as UK sales director and David North arrives as regional sales manager for northern England and Scotland.
Mr Savage has more than 25 years' experience in the travel industry and most recently worked for 13 years with Carlson Wagonlit Travel, latterly as commercial director.
He has also worked for American Express and Hogg Robinson.
Mr North has more than 15 years' experience in the industry and joins from Good Travel Management, a small UK independent.
He has previously worked for The Travel Company and P&O Travel.

Johnson joins Air Berlin

Titus Johnson has been appointed the new country manager for the UK for Air Berlin, Germany's second largest carrier.
Mr Johnson joins form Sabre where he was airline sales and account director EMEAEurope, Middle East and Africa.
He previously worked as UK manager for VLM Airlines.

BCD recruits Mark Williams

BCD Travel has expanded its consulting arm with the recruitment of Mark Williams from IBM.
Mr Williams becomes BCD's new vp consulting reporting to Ellen George, general manager of BCD Travel Consulting.
Mr Williams was previously business travel outsourcing client manager – travel for IBM's integrated supply chain procurement services practice.

Haughton new sales director for Airport Express

Kyle Haughton has been appointed the new sales and marketing director for Airport Express which runs the Gatwick and Heathrow Express trains.
Mr Haughton joins from First Choice Holidays where he was managing director independent travel.

Bmi appoints two senior executives

The bmi group has appointed two Scotsmen both from Aberdeen as part of its senior management team.
Crawford Rix, previously managing director of bmi regional, becomes managing director of bmibaby.
Stewart Adams, formerly deputy managing director of bmi regional, takes over Mr Rix's former job at bmi regional.
Mr Rix joined bmi in 1996 and has been charged now with "spearheading the aggressive growth strategy" of bmibaby which is the UK's second largest low cost carrier.
Mr Adams has also worked with bmi since 1996 and has served in various roles at the airline.

Air Jamaica appoints new Europe manager

Air Jamaica has appointed Anne Deamer as its new general manager for the UK and Europe.
She takes over from Tony Cowles who filled the role for 11 years.
Ms Deamer has 30 years' experience in the travel industry and joins from the UK Association of Train Operating Companies.
Previously she also worked at Virgin Trains and BA.

McDonald retires from BA

Alan McDonald, BA's director of engineering, is retiring after 40 years with the carrier.
His position will be taken, from September 15, by Garry Copeland, currently general manager quality and engineering services.
