Galileo's Gordon Wilson
Wilson new chief of Galileo/Worldspan
Gordon Wilson is to be the new president and ceo of the combined Galileo/Worldspan GDS, its owner Travelport Limited has announced.
He will take up the role when the take over of Worldspan by Travelport is completed.
Mr Wilson, 40, who joined Galileo in1991, has been president and ceo of the GDS since January this year.
He will continue to be based in London in his expanded role.
Mejia promoted while Rieder steps aside
American Express Business Travel has promoted Javier Mejia to the newly created post of vp sales EMEA Business Travel.
Mr Mejia has worked for Amex for six year, most recently as the country manager for Brazil.
He takes over part of the responsibilities of Pieter Rieder, previously vp business development EMEA, whose role has been split into two.
The other part of Mr Rieder's role has not yet been filled.
Mr Rieder, who joined Amex when it took over Rosenbluth International, is now seeking another role in Amex but is also free to seek a position outside the company.
Harris takes reins at Travelocity Business
Ellen Keszler is standing down as president of Travelocity Business after four years at the helm.
Her place will be taken by Lesley Harris, previously Travelocity's vp sales and customer care.
Ms Keszler plans to take a break before taking up a new post but will continue her term as chair of the National Business Travel Association Foundation.
During her presidency of Travelocity Business, Ms Keszler helped build up the company from one handling unmanaged business travellers to one dealing with $800m travel spend a year for medium and large corporates.
Ms Harris joined Travelocity's parent company Sabre in 1995 where she has also worked as vp of its small business division and then vp North America operations for Sabre Travel Network.
Flybe promotes Knuckey
UK low cost carrier Flybe has appointed Andrew Knuckey as its new chief financial officer.
He takes over from Chris Simpson who is standing down for personal reasons.
Mr Knuckey joined Flybe in 2005 and most recently was the airline's group finance director.
Before joining Flybe, Mr Knuckey worked for ROK plc as its southern division finance director and for 24 years with KPMG.
Flybe also said that Mr Knuckey, Mike Rutter, its chief commercial officer, and Andrew Strong, its chief operating officer, had been appointed to the board.
Amex appoints new commercial card chief
American Express has appointed Mimi Kung as its new head of commercial cars for the UK and Benelux countries.
Ms Kung joined Amex in 1995 and has held a number of senior positions in finance and management.
Most recently she was vp Europe for international payments, partnerships and rewards.
Bell moves to HRS
Mark Bell has joined Hotel Reservation Services (HRS) as head of contracting in its expanding UK team.
Mr Bell, a 33-year-old New Zealander, previously worked for lastminute.com where he was head of key account management for global hotels and The ABC Connection where he was head of UK distribution.
In his new post at HRS, Mr Bell will be in charge of all hotel partnerships and responsible for increasing the company's direct hotel contacts in the UK.
Gregory takes up marketing role at Air NZ
Kathryn Gregory has taken up the position of marketing manager Europe for Air New Zealand.
Ms Gregory, who will be based in London, joins from bmi where she worked for 15 years in sales, revenue and marketing positions.
She takes over from Christie Lord who left the airline last November.
Travelport promotes Barnhart
Seven months after being appointed president and chief financial officer of online agency Orbitz Worldwide, Steve Barnhart has been promoted to president and ceo.
Orbitz Worldwide is owned by Travelport Limited which also owns Galileo and Worldspan. Its portfolio includes Orbitz, ebookers.com and cheaptickets.com
Mr Barnhart, 45, joined Orbitz in 2003 when it was still owned by the Cendant Corporation. He was promoted to chief financial officer of Orbitz Worldwide last year.
