Barney Harford
Former Expedia executive to head Orbitz
Barney Harford, a former Expedia executive, has been appointed president and ceo of Orbitz Worldwide.
Mr Harford held various roles within Expedia between 1999 and 2006, including two years as president of Expedia Asia Pacific.
Prior to joining online travel agency Orbitz, which also provides a corporate travel service called Orbitz for Business, Mr Harford was a strategy consultant with the Kalchas Group.
Mr Harford has also been appointed to the Orbitz board of directors. He will also sit on the boards of LiquidPlanner, an on-demand project management service, and GlobalEnglish, which provides online English language training.
He replaces Steve Barnhart who resigned "to pursue other interests" according to the company. Mr Barnhart will remain in an advisory role until April.
