Etihad Airways has appointed Linden Coppell as its first manager for environmental affairs.

Ms Coppell  is a specialist with more than 18 years' experience in environmental matters and corporate social responsibility.

She joins the Abu Dhabi-based airline from Cathay Pacific where she worked in a similar role.

Her brief at Etihad is to drive eco-efficiency throughout the organisation by recycling and re-using resources.

She will also produce regular environmental management updates for company staff on the impact of environmental issues.
