HRG's Connell to head Portman global sales

Radius Travel has named Peter Connell as head of global sales for Portman Travel, its UK member.

Mr Connell joins Portman after nine years at Hogg Robinson Group (HRG) where he was responsible for European sales strategy.

In his new role Mr Connell will mainly be responsible for developing and maintaining Portman's international client base.

Mr Connell will also represent Portman's commercial operations within the Radius network.

Radius has announced two other sales appointments within the US.

John King has been named as Radius' vp for North American global sales and service while Brian Butler joins Omaha-based Travel and Transport.

Before joining Radius, Mr King was senior vp strategic sales for Travel and Transport where he headed strategic corporate initiatives.

Mr Butler joins Travel and Transport as director of global sales.

Prior to taking up his new position, Mr Butler spent seven years at The Hertz Corporation where he held various sales and account management roles.

All three sales positions report to Kieran Hartwell, Radius' vp global sales and service based at the company's headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland.
