Carlson appoints executive vp and chief branding officer 

Carlson Hotels Worldwide has named Gordon McKinnon as executive vice president and chief branding officer.

From September 1 Mr McKinnon will report to Carlson's president and ceo Hubert Joly.

Mr McKinnon joins US-based Carlson from Rezidor Hotel Group (RHG) where he was executive vp in charge of brands.

Mr McKinnon joined Rezidor in 2002 as vp for brand and concept development. Before that he was vp marketing for Malmaison hotels in Glasgow.

Mr McKinnon has also held several leadership positions at marketing and communications companies in the United Kingdom.

Carlson is a major shareholder in Brussels-based RHG and operates the same brands in the US through a strategic agreement.

RHG and Carlon's shared brands include Radisson, Park Inn and Park Plaza.
