Carlson Wagonlit Travel is First TMC to Support Prompt Payment Code

LONDON, February 2, 2010 - Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) UK, a leading specialist in business travel management, has become the first travel management company (TMCTravel Management Company: An agency which manages business travel for a company.) to become a signatory to the Prompt Payment Code.

CWT UK joins the likes of British Airways and HM Revenue & Customs inchampioning the importance of paying suppliers promptly, giving clear guidance on payment procedures and encouraging good practice.
 
According to Peter Mandelson, Secretary of State for Business, suppliers can have confidence in any company that signs up to the code that they will be paid within clearly defined terms, and that there is a proper process for dealing with any payments that are in dispute.
