Ash closes Rejkjavik airports

The flight zone over Rejkjavik International Airport and Keflavik International Airport has been closed today (April 23), due to airborne volcanic ash.

Icelandair to start new London-Seattle service (press release)

A new scheduled service connecting London Heathrow with Seattle-Tacoma will be launched by Icelandair on 22nd July 2009. As all flights connect in Reykjavik, passengers will have the option of an Icelandic stop over at no extra cost.

Gulf promotes Harrison

Gulf Air has appointed James Harrison as its new general manager for the UK.
Mr Harrison has been with the airline for four years and is currently it general manager in Ireland.
He joined from BA where he was an area manager and has held several posts with Gulf including sales and marketing officer and area manager for Dubai and the Emirates.
Mr Harrison replaces Clive Wratten who recently became head of international business group for travel management company HRG.

Webster warns of "brutal" winter
