Penny Coates

New board member at Manchester Airport Group

Manchester Airports Group (MAG) has appointed Penny Coates to its board with immediate effect.

Managing director of its East Midlands, Bournemouth and Humberside airports, Ms Coates is the first regional airports executive to be appointed to the board since its creation.

MAG said Ms Coates will bring focus to the group's customer experience and sustainability agenda at the board level.

Before joining MAG in 2005, Ms Coates was a director of ASDA Wal*Mart.

Bmi to drop Manchester long-haul routes


Bmi is dropping its long-haul services from Manchester to Chicago, Las Vegas, Barbados and Antigua from next year.

Emirates now has three class flights to Osaka

EMIRATES,  the Dubai-based international carrier, has opened a new three class service from Dubai to Osaka, which, with only JAL serving Japan”s second city non-stop from London, will be of benefit to travellers from Birmingham, Gatwick, Heathrow and Manchester airports.  The new service is codeshared with JAL and includes connections to Tokyo (Haneda), Fukuoka and Sapporo.
