Lufthansa operating profits rise by 63%
Lufthansa reported a 63% rise in its operating profits from €845m in 2006 to €1,378m last year.
According to preliminary figures released by the German national carrier, revenue rose by 19% from €19.8bn in 2006 to €22.4bn in 2007.
The figures showed a projected increase of more than 100% in net profit from €803m to €1,655m.
This included €503m from the sale of its shares in Thomas Cook.
The airline will release its full results for 2007 on March 12.

Ryanair to appeal against take over decision
Irish low cost carrier Ryanair is to appeal against the EC decision to block its take over of rival Aer Lingus.
It described the decision as "unlawful and politically motivated" and said it had lodged its appeal with the European Court of First Instance.
Ryanair, which now has a stake of 29.4% in its rival, bid €2.80 per share for Aer Lingus.
It said shares had since fallen to €2.50.

Concur launches new generation of expense management
Concur launched what it called the "new generation" of travel and expense management, Smart Expense.
It said this enabled business travellers to book their trip and get automatic processing of their expenses.
